My style is relaxed and non-traditional. My belief is that if you don't feel comfortable with your therapist, you won't trust them enough to open up. I am real and encourage you to be real, leaving the mask of perfection at the door. I understand that there's no one size fits all when it comes to every person's journey and I use a variety of therapeutic methods to customize therapy to meet each individual's needs. My goal is for you to leave our sessions feeling empowered, more capable and confident with tools and strategies to tackle life's challenges.
I received my master's in social work in 2000 from LSU and have varied professional experience from The Crisis Intervention Center's 24 hr crisis hotline to a school counselor to providing therapy to cancer patients and their families. As a cancer survivor, I know on a personal level how a sudden diagnosis of a life-threatening illness can stop you in your tracks, leaving you scared and feeling helpless. I also believe in the resiliency of the human spirit and that you can find meaning and purpose even in your darkest time.
